I'm a firm believer that video is an effective and engaging mode to tell a story in a short time. The videos I've made range from social media teases to full-length stories.

I recorded and edited this video on my phone as part of a training session with journalists at the Jefferson City News Tribune. I used the mobile video editing app Quick to produce this video, which was meant to be an evergreen multimedia element that could run alongside future coverage of St. Mary's Hospital.

This video was part of a multimedia package I produced with two other classmates. The idea for this story came from a job fair local businesses put on to recruit local high schoolers, many of whom were opting not to pursue a technical career. We talked to business owners, students and educators to find out how a lack of skilled workers in rural Missouri is affecting the state's economy.

I helped make this video as part of the Columbia Missourian's outreach team. Columbia had just gotten Bird scooters that week, and we wanted to make a video for social media that would give viewers a quick summary of everything that had happened with the new transportation option thus far. We took a traditional tripod setup around downtown, but we also shot footage by strapping a GoPro to our chest while we rode the scooters.

I produced this video about a harpist from Czechoslovakia for VOX Magazine. I'm most proud of how I was able to incorporate the harpist's music into the video and synchronize shots of her playing across different clips.

I was working a shift for the Columbia Missourian the day after Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens was indicted on two felony charges. We had the idea to produce a "man-on-the-street" video gathering reactions from people around town. This was a hard lesson in rejection — not many people wanted to participate in the video, and even fewer seemed to have known that the governor had been arrested the day before.
